“Amabile School of Music has a team of amazing staff and teachers. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to pick up music again as an adult student after almost three decades – first taught by the extremely talented founder and director, Teresa, several years ago, and now taught by Dr. Dulais. Dr. Dulais is truly inspirational! No matter how challenging the piece was, he can always analyze it in a way that it’s so easy to understand and overcome. His great sense of humor and kind, encouraging words have always made the lesson so enjoyable, but went by so fast. This school year, with my own busy teaching schedule, the happiest time for me was to come to Amabile for the piano lesson. The piano lessons have helped me more focused and more organized in my own teaching. Both of my children “graduated” from Amabile, too. They took piano/violin (with Teresa/Dulais, Midori) and piano/clarinet (Teresa/Dulais, Ricki) for years, and now they both are active leaders at the school’s advanced band and advanced orchestra. Thank you very much, Amabile, for instilling music in our life.”

"The teaching is top-notch, and we are pleased that our son's exposure to the musical world was achieved through your school."

“Amabile School of Music is a wonderful place to go. The owner, Teresa, is also a scholar musician herself and has made the school such a wonderful teaching environment!! Teresa is so talented and has the most wonderful, friendly, and helpful personality which makes the school a “treat” to visit. Teresa has hand picked her teachers carefully and is very purposeful in what she expects from her professional teachers. She wants the best for her students and their families who will in turn enjoy the music talent in their own homes!! Amabile is a MUST to enroll as a music school. You will be welcomed by her sweet smile and wonderful personality!!!”

“The school name “Amabile” speaks for the owner, Teresa’s personality and her view of music. I promise that you’ll not be disappointed to send your child, or yourself here for some music education. Whether you just want your child to have some basic appreciation of music, or you want to train your child to become a world class musician, you will most likely get your goals achieved. Both my kids and myself (yes, myself, who dropped piano for 30+ years, and just picked up again last year!) have benefited so much from Teresa. I like her new school, and I am sure you will too!”

“This is a fantastic school with highly skilled teachers and a wonderful atmosphere. It is clear that a great deal of preparation and planning went into its development. My 6 year old daughter began piano lessons with Teresa over the summer and looks forward to her weekly lessons. A huge bonus is that Amabile is right on the L Muni line.”

“This Music School might just be the best place in San Francisco you can bring your kids, or even yourselves to. They offer many different types of music private lessons such as piano, guitar, violin, flute, voice…etc. And even a toddlers class for the little ones! I was there for the open house and the warmth I received from all the teachers and staff there were amazing! The director/owner is Teresa, she’s just a ball of energy, and very friendly and patient with all your questions! They will suit you with the best teachers and adjust their schedule to yours! The school location is great and the atmosphere is wonderful, bright colors and private, spacious rooms! They even hold concerts for all their students so they can all experience the joy of performing live on stage! GO THERE and check them out!”

“In any artistic field to be the best you need to be passionate and driven, and willing to keep trying until you get it. You also need to train under someone who has a very high skill level and professional attitude. If you train at Dennys restaurant you will make Dennys style food, if you train at fine dining restaurant, elegant artistic food. Teresa is one of the best pianists in San Francisco. Teresa searched very carefully and found teachers of the same excellence and passion in their playing. I am very excited to see studnets train at this school and have an excellent foundation in music. Everyone is very nice as well and that’s just as important as the training. To be a teacher requires more than just skill, and I see the ability to communicate well in Teresa and the teachers who work at the school.”

"We've been sending our daughter to Amabile for almost a year. She started from the Little Mozart Class to private lesson now. Miss Bella and Miss Tiffany have been giving her wonderful piano classes.
Miss Bella is so friendly, patient and talented and Miss Tiffany is very professional for working with kids.
We are happy that our daughter can go here and she's very excited every time. We highly recommend Amabile to all parents."

"My cousins go here. I took her to a lesson and waited in the waiting room. The couches are a little janky and the waiting area needs more chairs - especially on a Saturday. There were students of all ages. They all seemed very happy to be there. And my cousin really enjoys her piano lessons. She actually listens to the teacher and she was nice - especially when she offered to delay lunch to do a lesson at the same time as the other sibling has a class. She seemed very sweet and she is very knowledgeable and patient. The teachers had certifications on the board that I know are solid. I have a master's degree in music, so I know what I'm talking about."

"My son has been taking lessons for about 3 months so far and he really enjoys it. He has a great teacher with Ms. Lindsey (as he calls her). She strikes a nice balance in terms of making it fun and supportive while still keeping the student progressing at a nice pace.
I had the standard concerns about enrolling my son:
- will he dread going to piano lessons?
- will he get distracted?
- how will the teacher interact with him?
- will it be too "formal" (I want my kid to enjoy himself as well)
I searched the web for potential schools and I was drawn to the philosophy of Amabile. Teresa, the director of the school, responded quickly to my email and her answers put my mind at ease about enrolling my son. The structure of the program has been great. He has three books: a practice book (to mark when he practices), a music theory book and his musical pieces book. All three have been age appropriate while still teaching him the basics.
I realize that the monthly tuition isn't cheap, but you are paying for a nice environment, structured program and a qualified one-on-one teaching experience. It's definitely a commitment for you and your child. Going on our 4th month, my son still looks forward to his lesson. Hearing him play the piano on his own (only sometimes - let's be realistic) versus playing on the computer is definitely priceless."

"Great place for young kids to begin their music education! The owner, Teresa, is great with kids (so are the other teachers) and really goes out of her way to make sure the students get the best music experience."

"Our son loves his cello lessons with Kathryn Bates at Amabile. She's energetic, patient, and knows how to make music fun for a young beginner. The school facilities are new, clean, well-lit, and full of enthusiastic students. They put on regular public recitals to give students a chance to perform for an audience. We're very happy we found this school."

"My daughter takes piano lesson here with Candace. She enjoys it very much. We pay $1 per minute. Parking can be a pain sometimes.
They offer students a chance to play at a retirement home.
Nice spacious waiting area.
